From Kate Mick's album "Undertown"

Dave was (and still is) a huge supporter of my music. I played some of my first shows at The Galactic's first location. He insisted on me making an album of my songs. At the time, I didn't think my music was worthy to be recorded but Dave helped me recognize that they were. I didn't have any money to go to a recording studio or buy equipment so Dave set up The Galactic as a DIY recording studio for a couple nights and he recorded me playing my songs live, for Undertow. The recordings aren't perfect- my voice cracks, my banjo is a little out of tune, you can hear traffic on Main Street and some shuffling in the background but you can feel Galactic's charm, it somehow works. Undertow helped me play more shows, get music reviews, and have something to sell and promote. Sadly, I don't frequent The Galactic nearly as much as I used to because I don't live in Warren anymore but I think of it often and how far it has grown. Dave has really let it grow and adapt to its surroundings. I hope it's around forever for musicians and music lovers.
